Holliston Knights of Columbus conduct successful Golf Tournamen

Ninety golfers (23 teams) participated in the St. Mary’s of Holliston KofC Council 14224’s Second Annual Swing For Charity Golf Tournament on June 9th at Pinecrest Golf Club. The teams were delighted with the good weather, some sunshine, and no rain this year.
First Place went to Holliston Pantry Shelf President Karen Jewett’s team with a score of 8 under Par (-8). John Curran’s team came in Second Place with a score of 6 under Par (-6). John is the past Chairman of the KofC Golf Tournament Committee. Third Place went to Holliston Pantry Shelf Treasurer Dave O’Neil’s team with a score of 6 under Par (-6). Men’s Longest Drive was won by Dave O’Neil’s grandson Andrew Faichney. Elizabeth Crews won the Women’s Longest Drive and Closest-to-the-Pin was won by Greg Panagiotou. Wendy Cofran provided some excitement when she made her first-ever hole-in-one on the 10th hole.

The 2023 KofC Golf Tournament raised $13,000 which will be donated to the Holliston Pantry Shelf. Event Chair Tony Polise thanks everyone who supported the Swing For Charity Golf Tournament including golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and those who provided raffle items. He also thanks those who spread the word to friends, family & the community. This year’s event was a huge success and the Council is looking forward to hosting the tournament again next year.
