The Little Gym of Medway Helps Children Build Confidence, Develop Skills, Make Lifelong Friends

Leah Chan (and her hus-band Nigel) took over The Little Gym (TLG) in Medway in 2021 and since then have made sev-eral improvements to enhance the experience of TLG mem-bers.

“We’ve updated our equip-ment and interior, and worked with our staff to ensure a more dynamic and engaging class experience. Additionally, we’ve focused on cultivating a wel-coming and inclusive environ-ment for all families. We have also made a significant effort to reach out to the local com-munity by supporting local and non-profit organizations.”

Chan says the “typical” TLG customer is a family with chil-dren aged 4 months to 12 years old. She says TLG is committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment where children can build confidence, develop physical skills, and make lifelong friends.
“Our programs are designed to be both fun and educational, fostering a love for physical ac-tivity and learning. We pride ourselves on our strong sense of community and our dedica-tion to helping every child reach their full potential,” Chan says, adding their most
popular programs are the parent/child classes for the youngest kids and pre-k gym-nastics.
“We are also growing our non-competitive grade school gymnastics program, and we offer a unique dance class on Sundays that combines tech-niques from both dance and gymnastics,” says Chan. “We also host monthly community events, Parents’ Night Out(s), and our ever-popular birthday parties.”
A typical birthday party at TLG includes 1.5 hours of fun-filled activities led by the enthu-siastic TLG instructors. The $440 package for 15 guests in-cludes exclusive use of the gym, themed games, music, gymnas-tics activities, and paper goods.
Chan says, “We work with parents to pre-plan the event and handle the setup and cleanup, allowing them to relax
and enjoy the celebration. Need-less to say, it’s always sunny and 70s in the gym, so no one has to worry about inclement weather ruining birthday party plans!”
The Little Gym will be host-ing events in September and Oc-tober that are open to members and non-members. Themed events that families can attend (and parents can learn more about TLG) will be held on:
Fri., Sept. 6: Back to School Bash Fri., Oct. 18: Halloween Party
In addition, TLG will host a “Parent Night Out/Parent Sur-vival Night” on Fridays, Sept. 20 and Oct. 11. These events are drop-off events for bathroom-independent kids to have fun at the gym while parents enjoy a night out for 2.5 hours.

“We’ve been Little Gym members for almost 7 years now and I can’t say enough great things about them! My daughter adores everyone here and it truly is the highlight of her week coming to her Little Gym class! She has come such a long way with not only her gymnastic skills but her social skills as well. Their patience, knowledge and creativity are just a few reasons why we love them!”
